Hello!

So, yesterday was my school Christmas concert,  How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  And, if you have been reading my blog, you know that I got a part as a narrator.  We got to wear these awesome dresses and the two cast dances were SO much fun.  The Grinch costume looked a lot like a big dark green Teletubbie  and by the end,  he was so hot they had to reapply his face paint because it was running so much.  We performed once in the afternoon and once in the evening and I was so tired, my mom let me stay home from school today.  I am so sad it's over! 

      So,  we had snow.  Lots of it.  Or so people said.  I personaly didn't get to excited about it, but yes, there was some snow.  People were tobaganing and building snowmen and having snowball fights.  But then it rained. Now there is no more.  Boo hoo (not really).   

   

      We also went up to Grouse  Mountain yesterday to rent our skis, boots, and poles for the season.  That was fun, but man those boots are hard to get on and off!  We didn't do any skiing after, but we will be going back TOMORROW to go skiing.  I can't wait!

I got a part!

I got a part in the Christmas Concert at school.  It is How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  I am a narrator.  I didn't want to try for any thing to big.  I was going to try for a who but I didn't.  My first rehersal is on thursday.  I can't wait!

So You THINK You Can Dance?

You've probably heard of the "So You Think You Can Dance"  TV show, but if you haven't, it is a dance competition where you can vote for your favourite dancer.  Well, at my school, a dance instructor came two years ago for a dance workshop, and on sunday she called and asked if they would like one of her students to come and see us.  Her name is Nathalie(h is silent) Heath and she was on So You Think You Can Dance.  She made it to the top 8  and was going to come to talk to us about her experience there.  I have seen it and she is a really good dancer.  When she was here she taught us a hip hop dance which was really fun.  That is definitely a pro of being in a performing arts school!

Yoo hoo! Anybody still reading my blog?  Well, maybe this will get you interested.  

I SAW A PINK ELEPHANT YESTERDAY!  No, not really.  But, I am loving school and I will tell you you about that.  First of all at this school I can join a sports team starting in grade 5.  But in Winnipeg you could only join in grade 7.  I am going to join the basketball team.  I am also joining choir, jump rope club, and dance club. It will be so fun!  Also, I love hanging out with Wesley, Miranda, Holly, Emma, and Emilia at recess.  Today we told ghost stories.  My teacher is really great too. Oh yeah!  We have a student teacher named Miss Lewandowska.  The W is pronounced as a V.  She is from Poland and is really friendly and nice!  She speaks with a teeny bit of an accent.  So, I will be posting more regularly now.

PIGGY!!!!!!!!!!

My sister Sasha lost a very beloved stuffed pig named Piggy.  She took him to Old Navy so my Mom called. They said there was no Piggy.  We looked every where.  Then we decided to go to Toys 'R' Us because we know there are more pigs there.  On the way we stopped in Old Navy, asked them to  look again and yup PIGGY IS FOUND!

     Only 8 more days till I start my new school!

Book Review!

Best Book ever!  Here is a book review.

Description:  It is about a boy who is orphaned WWII Who lives in England.  He and many other children are sent to Australia.  There they live at a place called Cooper's Station, where they are slaves to Mr. Bacon and his wife Ida.  One day, Ida helps Him and his friend Marty escape, and they move in with Aunty Megs. They love Aunty Megs. Aunty Megs sends them to work in a Boat yard where they descover their love for the sea.  Then one day Marty dies and so does Aunty Megs.  Then he meets a girl named Zita and they get married and have a girl named Allie.  When Allie is older they plan to go sail to England to find his long lost sister named Kitty.  But he dies so Allie sails herself and almost gets shipwrecked.  When she finaly gets to England she..........

Crazy Awesome Week!

Hello everyone!  I have had an AWESOME week with my friends doing all sorts of stuff.  Going the beach two days in a row, shopping at Metrotown, taking lots of great pictures on Burnaby Mountain and at Lynn Canyon Park, going to the Chinese market in Chinatown, and eating lots and lots of Gelato!  It was a crazy awesome week, and even though they are now staying with other friends we are going to have 1 more crazy awesome day to spend with them later in the week.  Yay!  Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. When we were at the pool to pick up my Mom's gym membership, we met I guy from Saskatchewan who was working at the front desk!  Of course, my mom told him we just moved(she's been telling them to almost every one she meets that to get advice on places to go), and he told her that even though it's exspensive, he would never move back. "Too hot, too cold, too many bugs, and too much snow."  Well, I like snow!  I really do!  Except for some days at the end of winter.  Anyway I've got to go now, but I hope I can post pictures soon.  My Dad STILL hasn't loaded my pictures yet.  grrrrrrr.

Yummy, Yummy

          Yesterday my family went to a yummy greek restrant. I had chicken souvlaki, rice, lemon roasted potatoes, and pita bread.  After we went Dairy Queen for dessert.  We all got mini Blazzards which is a new size that is smaller than the small size.  Ellie got Mint Oreo, Sasha got Oreo, My mom and dad shared a Reese, and I got Score.  Score is the best flavour I had ever tasted!  Even though I have only tasted 3 flavours. It was awesome!

          Afew days ago my sisters, my dad, and me went to the indoor pool close by.  It was so much fun!  there was a huge water slide some sprayer thingies, a rope to jump off of, and lots of swimming space.  The water slide is a tunnel at the beginning.  I love tunnels! Near the end there is a drop and it makes you go really fast. I love it!!

   The weather has been pretty good except for 3 days of rain.  Luckily it will be nice every day when we have our first visitors.

I have decided to tell you 1 thing I have learned since we left Winnipeg every post. Today's Thing is:  The Moose Jaw traffic lights are the longest in the world, declared by my mom.

I'm Baaaaack!

Hi once again!

Now is the perfect time to tell everyone about the past week in Vancouver/Burnaby.

                                                      Top 5 Exciting Things
 
   1.  Movers coming and moving our stuff in our new house.
   2.  An awesome hike.
   3.  Going to the Barnet Beach.
   4.  Seeing the Celebration of Lights.
   5.  Going to the B.C. Day celebration on the Londsdale Quay.

Now I will tell you the details of each thing.  When the movers moved our stuff in it was suprisingly fun!  They were all friendly and did a good job.  In the moving van only one lamp got a little crunched but other than that it was all good.  I liked watching them move the piano in!  Okay, on to the hike.  Well, Ellie was acating like some jungle explorer, pertending to use a machete and saying jump! Dodge! Jump! Dodge! and making us all laugh like crazy.  At the Barnet Beach the water was FREEZING but me and Ellie had a fun time beach combing.  We colected awesome sea barnecales, a dead crab that was named Abby, a rock that looked like a lizard and lots and lots of shells.  But our most awesome thing we got was.....STARFISH!!!!!!!! Thats right, we found three starfish.  Me and Ellie found two and Dad and Sasha found one. Sasha's was named Speedy and Me and Ellie's was named Arie and Carrie. Arie was red and Carrie was purple.  I held them! One side was hard like a shell and one was slimey and had little thingers that helped them move. I love them but we had to put them back.  Next the Celebration of Lights. The Celebration of Lights was a tribute to China.  There were AMAZING fireworks!  Really pretty! I liked the sparkler ones the best! It went on untill it was really late. Then we had to run like crazy to get a spot on the bus- there was so many people! The bus driver really shouldn't have let us on, it was already a sardine can in there but he did any way.  It was packed like crazy and at each stop it got crazier-we had so many people on there some of them were smushed against the doors!  Luckily we got a spot in the front so we were not as crunched. We even got to sit down for a bit! We had a really nice bus driver and he was funny too.  He made the hour trip less unbearable.  Yesterday we went on the sea bus to Londsdale Quay in North Vancouver.  There  was a B.C. Day celebration.  We got geloto and had a fun time walking around, listening to a band, and going in some shops.  Then we took the sea bus back.  The sea bus is a big boat full of seats that takes you across the sea from South to North Vancouver.  Well that's all. Hmmmm.........

Help!  I  have just discovered I have a bad case of I-want-to-write-on-my-blog-but-I-can't-think-of-anyting-to-write-about cold!  Apparently the best way to cure this is to think.  A lot.  Hmmmm...............yes! I know what to write about now!  Well, today was my classs celebration chapel.  This is where your teacher comes up and tells you 3 good qualities she has noticed in you.  I got Compassion, Leadership, and Gifted Musician.  Another thing I am going to write about is that today, a boy in my class handed out invitations to the intire class to his house on the last day of school for a pool party!  He even invited the teacher! It's going to be AWESOME!  The last thing I want to talk about is that tomorrow my school is having it's spring concert. This year we are doing a musical called It's Cool in the Furnace.  It's going to be great!  I am glad I am not an actor though, because they have to have an ALL DAY DRESS REAHERSAL tomorrow!

SOOOOOOO Sorry!

Yes, I am aware I have left you for more than 2 MONTHS!  Well, I am really sorry and I promise to not let it go for a really long time ever again!  Regarding Vancouver all you need to know is that it was AWESOME!

                I have a big dance recital THIS WEDNESDAY and I am SUPER excited for it.  I do ballet and I LOVE IT!  I hope the recital goes well!

The Whole Trip

Okay, I haven't written because I was so busy in Vancouver.  But now I am back home, so I can write!

Here is a crazy car we saw that was parked.  We also saw it later when it was moving.  It had all sorts of crazy stuff glued on, and it even had a real fountain inside!

Hey everyone!  Vancouver is awesome!  Yesterday we went for a walk down Robson Street and I bought a really cool hat!  For supper we had the best pizza in the world.  It was GREAT!  Today we are going to go to the Vancouver Aquarium.  It will be so much FUN!  I will write more later.  I will also post pictures soon.

Big News!

Hello from Vancouver!  That's right!  I am in Vancouver on a holiday!  My dad is living here because his work moved him here for awhile.  We flew here yesterday.  The flight was really long.  It is so nice here!
It's cloudy but not to cold.  In a little bit we are going to take a walk down Robson Street. Robson Street has lots and lots of stores.  It's always really busy.  You know what I think is cool?  Here it is only around 10:10 but in Winnipeg it is around 12:10.  I think that's really cool.

    Hi!  Yesterday in choir a boy stuck a penny in a electrical outlet!  There was a big spark, and then it melted on the outlet!   So I'm warning you now, NEVER, under any circumstances, put a penny in a electrical outlet!    NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER!!

More Time

Now I have more time to write a proper post.  Has any one checked out that super cool video?  If you haven't, the address is 2 posts back.  If you have checked it out, don't you love it!  I listened to it about 6 times today.  Just ask my mom!  I think the guy in white, jumping up and down sounds like an alien.  So far, no one has agreed with me.

Today at school we did something really cool.  We got into groups, took a box and tried to make it soundproof.  It was super fun.  My group used rolled up towels, cotton balls, styrofoam, shredded paper, and egg cartons. we put the towels at the bottom, then dumped a bunch of cotton balls, styrofoam, and shredded paper in. then we glued egg cartons to the lid.  tomorrow we will test them.  I 

New Student

There's a new student coming to my class!  I don't know much about him other than he's a boy, his name is Josiah, and he is coming on Tuesday.  I wonder what he will be like?

  Okay, so I was at my friend Caleb's house today, and when we were eating supper, our parents started to talk about me and Caleb switching our rooms to the basement when we got older.  My mom said that the only problem would be that in case of fire, the window wouldn't be big enough.  Then my mom said to Caleb, "Well, you could always butter your but!" and then his dad said, "Yeah, get pajamas on, brush your teeth, and then butter your but!"  Then my mom said, "It could be the name of your soccer team, the Butterbut team!" and then his dad replied "Or Butterbuts United." I have no Idea What This post should be called so I am just going to write this.

I have so much to say so I can't think of a title.  Anyway, my birthday was on the 19 and I had lots of fun.  I had two friends over after school.  We had supper at my house and then we went to Ruckers.  I got lots of cool presents.  Then a few days after my birthday, I had my neighbors over for a sleepover.  We watched a movie called  The Ice Princess.  It's about a girl who loves to figure skate.  It's really good.  A few days after my parties, me, my dad, and my sisters built a really big snowman.  it melted a bit though, so it isn't as tall as it was. It's still pretty big though.  We had to use a ramp to get the second snowball onto the top of the first one.  I had a lot of fun building it!   My dad has to live in Vancouver for three months.  I miss him.  He comes back for a visit sometimes though.  I am playing piano in the Winnipeg Music Festival.  I am playing a piece called Autumn Leaves.  It's a very pretty piece.  I'm playing on Sunday, March 20th.  I can't wait! I am starting Heritage Fair at school.  It is on Canada's heritage.  The teachers give you 6 topics that you can do your project on.  I am doing Niagara Falls.  You have to have a backboard and a written report.  It's fun to work on.  That's all I'm posting right now.   

Crazy Day (sort of)

Today was such a crazy day! In the morning I went to a hockey game. But not just any hockey game. It was wheelchair hockey! We went because the guy my mom works with has cerebral palsy. They don't play on ice of course. They play in a gym. It was fun watching him. At 3:00 I got a haircut. I got my hair layered. I really like it. Then we had house church. That was fun too. So okay, maybe it wasn't that crazy, but it sure felt like it!

Too Busy

Okay, okay, I know I haven't written in such a long time, but I was just too busy.  Learning how to skate, Christmas, seeing a movie (it was so good!), seeing friends from Ontario,  driving through a blizzard, Christmas party's, and swimming all packed into two little weeks!  You need a vacation to recover from your vacation!  Oh yeah, and I got pinkeye.  Learning how to skate was so much fun!  I haven't been skating for 5 years!  I loved seeing friends from Ontario.  I got 2 things for Christmas that I really really wanted!  They were a Wii game and a.........SNUGGIE!  A Snuggie is a blanket with arms.  It comes in very handy for reading, which love to do.  The movie I saw was Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, which I had already saw, but the rest of my family hadn't.  My family also stayed in a hotel for about 1 hour.  We were going to stay for one night and swim the whole time but we didn't, because the water was about as warm as the water in Antarctica (and I am not exagerating).  Anyway, I wish Christmas vacation wasn't over  GOODBYE!!!!!!!!!
