Babysitting

In April, I took a babysitting course, because now I am eleven.  It was pretty fun!  I have actually babysat 4 or 5 times for some friends.  There are 2 kids, Susie and Alejandro.  Susie is 4 and Alejandro is 6.  They are really fun to be with.  Susie is so cute!  She has a bear named Freddy, because "her real name is Freddy Teddy, even though she's a girl."  She loves to draw and "to make the picture really really colourful."  Alejandro loves all things hockey and Canucks.  His favourite thing to do is to play hockey in the hallway with his mini sticks.  I can't wait untill I have more jobs.  Today I got 15 dollars!

'til the next post,  Hannah

The Show!!!

Today was our show, the one I talked about in my post about Katy Perry's song Firework.  If you haven't read it already, click here.

Everyone did amazing, really good.  I had lots of fun.  The show was based around students real experiences facing oppression, bullying, diversity, and racisim.  The "director" for all of this has been a woman named Patti Allan. She was our "artist in residence" for this year. She was great at encouraging us to speak louder and not be shy.  I'd say she did a really good job.  My class was  in a scene called Sports Day, about a girl named Jasmine who gets bullied because she is really small.  Me and 4 other kids from my class danced in a piece called "Emma's Journal".  It's about a girl who experiances racisim from her best friend.  I was also in the finale dance, the one with the song Firework.  The show was really good and I can tell that the conversations at recess will be a lot different from now on.  I wish everyone in the world could have seen this, because it really does make people think before they speak. And now.............THE PICTURES!!!!
